October 16, 2010
After November 1, 2010, LENHARTLAW llc will no longer accept new clients and will soon close its doors due to an opportunity that I could not turn down. On that date, I will start work as an Associate General Counsel for CARE USA, which is one of the world’s largest private international humanitarian organizations (and my firm’s biggest client). My responsibilities will include continuing my work on the organization’s employment matters and providing general advice relating to CARE’s operations in Asia, which include projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
While it does sadden me somewhat to shutter LENHARTLAW after such a short run, had I not welcomed the challenge and uncertainty of a solo practice, I likely would not have been introduced to the great people of CARE nor been given an in-depth look into CARE’s good work. Many thanks go to R. Lawrence Ashe, Jr., Esq. who facilitated that introduction. I am also grateful to family, friends, and most importantly, my clients who took that leap with me. However, in the end, the pride I have in the firm I started cannot impede the global opportunities for good that a career with CARE promises.
If you are a past or prospective client, I remain available to you to place you in the hands of the best attorney for your needs. I may also continue to use advocatalyst.com as a referral network and meetup host for Atlanta’s vibrant legal community.
Thank you for the support over the past year. And I invite you to visit CARE and join its fight to end global poverty, injustice, and indignity.
Scott M. Lenhart
